The mobilization of participants by the organisers was quite impressive. Every seat was taken during the opening session to the extent some people had to stand.

Organised by the Commission of the Economic Community Of West African States (ECOWAS), the Government of Niger and the event organiser company AME Trade Ltd, the activities of this forum started in the presence of a dozen Ministers in charge of Mines, Energy and Petroleum in the countries of the regional organization of the Democratic Republic of Algeria, and many guests including Nigeria (guest country), the African Chamber of Energy, the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), the ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines, and regional civil society organizations working in the geo-extractive field.

A special thank you to our sponsors without whom the forum would not have taken place. The AME Trade team is delighted to have contributed to these fruitful exchanges on the petroleum and mining industries and to have worked with local companies to make this forum a success.
We thank all the stakeholders who contributed to the success of this edition, private and public companies, institutions, government delegations and especially our sponsors. We look forward to seeing you at the next edition.

The Forum has provided a framework for collaboration and dialogue to support efforts to put in place a harmonised, organised and optimally developed geo-extractive sector architecture to enable it to fully assume its role as an anchor for development in the region.
A dozen Ministers in charge of Mines, Energy and Petroleum, in the ECOWAS members states were present at ECOMOF 2022. The officials also visited the stands of the exhibitors during an official tour. 25 countries were in total represented at the event.
On the sidelines of ECOMOF 2022, a tripartite Niger-Nigeria-Algeria meeting on the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline Project was organised at the initiative of Niger to relaunch this important project of international scope. The Ministers signed a declaration called “Niamey Declaration” which decided on the rapid re-launch of the project.
Niger’s Petroleum and Mining sectors welcome any investor ready to invest in developing the country’s mining and oil resources. The objective of Niger’s government is to irreversibly embark on the path of sustainable development with the mining and oil sector as the country’s economic growth requires.
ECOMOF aims to develop the mining and petroleum potential of the community space, promote regional socio-economic integration, develop artisanal and small-scale mining and organise geological, mining and petroleum databases in ECOWAS Member States. The 3rd edition of ECOMOF was organised in line with these goals.
The forum is also intended to be an ideal regional platform for exchanges and meetings with ECOWAS Member States’ ministers responsible for the development of the mining and petroleum sectors, their respective national experts, as well as all key stakeholders in the geo-extractive industry. It has proved to be the ideal regional platform in February 2022, where stakeholders met and created new business partnerships.
